Dance + New Music Concert
Central City Artist-in-Residence Leyya Mona Tawil (DANCE ELIXIR) with
NOLA musicians Jeff Pagano (piano), Joshua Wexler (piano, melodica, pedals) and Luke Brechtelsbauer (harp).

New York City-based artist, Steed Taylor, will be in the Central City neighborhood of New Orleans continuing his investigation into the intersection of memorials, ritual and public space by making one of his road tattoos. This site-specific, commemorative, community-based, public artwork will use a local road as the skin of the community to tattoo, in black high-gloss paint. Big and bold in size yet subtle in color, the tattoo-inspired design will appear and disappear with passing light as it meanders down the neighborhood street. During the 11/28 dedication all of New Orleans is invited to participate in the final step of the installation, when local children will be honored by writing their names in the artwork.

The 170ft. long tattoo runs the length of St. Andrew, between S. Robertson and Freret.
